Starphire vs Clear Glass

So what is the difference between clear and starphire (starfire) otherwise known as low iron glass?  As counter intuitive as this sounds clear glass has a green tint to it and starphire is much clearer than clear glass.  Why is that the case? Well clear glass has a higher iron content than starphire glass making it have a green hue.  Depending on the project and the desired look your trying to accomplish the choice between starphire or clear glass can make a huge difference.  Most shower doors are utilizing the starphire glass to show off the true color of the tile behind while glass railings are primarily clear glass.
